Journey Capture

Introduction

Thank you for using Journey Capture. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension interacts with, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Information Collection and Use

Journey Capture allows you to capture annotated screenshots of web pages as you document user journeys. The extension interacts with the following information solely to provide this functionality:

• Screenshots — images of the visible area of the browser tab at the moment of capture.
• Page URLs — the URL of the active tab is recorded alongside each screenshot as a reference label.
• Mouse position — the cursor's position on the page at the moment of capture is used to composite an annotation cursor onto the screenshot image. This position is held in memory only for the duration of the capture and is not stored independently.

All of this information is processed locally within your browser. None of it is transmitted to any external server or third party.

Data Storage

Captured screenshots and their associated URLs are stored locally using Chrome's storage.local API. This data remains on your device and is accessible only to the extension. You can remove all stored data at any time by clearing the extension's storage via Chrome's settings, or by uninstalling the extension.

Optionally, you may export a session as a .journey file to your local filesystem. This file is created and managed entirely by you; the extension does not transmit or upload it.

Permissions

Journey Capture requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for the purposes described:

• tabs / activeTab — to identify the active tab and capture its visible content.
• scripting — to inject the capture listener into pages so keyboard shortcuts can trigger a screenshot.
• storage / unlimitedStorage — to store captured screenshots locally in your browser.
• windows — to resize the browser window to a specified viewport size when using the resize quick-action buttons.
• host permissions (<all_urls>) — required to inject the capture listener into any page you choose to document.

Third-Party Services

Journey Capture does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No information about your usage is shared with any third party.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
